FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

Why "Zaptext"

We started life by enabling our clients to send (or "Zap") text messages to their contacts. Thats only a small part of what we now do , but .. the name stuck.

What is our business philosophy ?

It's summed up in these three principles :

1) Quality

We strive to provide exceptional products and services that are architecturally robust, configurable, imbued with longevity, and which allow our customers to achieve their goals.

2) Integrity

We uphold the highest standards of integrity in all of our actions.

We are not prepared to "win at any cost".

3) Personal Relationships

We develop relationships that make a positive difference in our customers’ lives, and we realise that by challenging our customers assumptions, we can go further.

We are interested in long term relationships with clients, rather than "quick wins".

Is Zaptext an "SMS gateway" ?

Zaptext certainly gives you that service, however it is MUCH more than that. It's a complete environment which allows you to nurture your business relationships by gathering information about your contacts, and communicating with them in richly personalised ways using new digital media (SMS, Zap-Flyer e-mail) and documents and reports.

What does SMS stand for ?

Short Message Service. A service which originated on pagers (remember them?), to alert telephone engineers about system issues. Telco's were taken by surprise at how quickly SMS became a cultural norm.

Why "Relationship Technology" ?

The dictionary definition for relationship is " a state of connectedness between people ". By using Zaptext web and mobile technology, we empower your organisation to achieve that connectedness.

How long does an SMS take to reach the cellphone ?

95% of messages reach the phone within 2 minutes of sending (and many within a matter of seconds). The number of stages involved is complex, global, and ultimately, depends on the load and performance of the relevant telco's SMS centre.

Who owns Zaptext ?

Zaptext is privately owned.
